Surrender ticket at exit, pay toll...
Went to Marchetti's this weekend with Pete.

I don't endorse the Bob's Big Boy

Driving for hours on the New York State Thruway can be boring. Especially due to the ice storm, and the fact that we left later than we wanted to and wouldn't be getting to bob_saget's until 9 or so, a pit stop for food was in order. How can you go wrong with a Roy Rogers? You can't.

New Jersey rocks my world!

No seriously man, it does. But before you dismiss me out of hand, I have to ask, I have used that phrase before, right? Not according to Pete and bob_saget, but I think they're just delusional. I've definitely used "rocks my world" before, frequently, in fact.

Face off with your VCR

Marchetti has a nice apartment, but certainly not large enough to play squash indoors. This of course serves as no deterrent, and what better room to play squash in then in the living room, against the wall of electronics. Marchetti vs. the VCR, VCR looses, big time. What will be the next victim?

Five nines, my ass

It's easy to forget how much fun a two hour long power failure can be, especially in the middle of an ice storm.

Have some Freedom Fries and shut the fuck up

An ice storm bad enough to pull down power lines couldn't possibly affect road conditions. So of course, a trip to Dennys, apparently the only place open in Troy at that time of night, was in order as soon as the power came back. The inability to see what lane your in, road signs, or the motorists around you is of no consequence.

Call me Doctor Worm

We didn't get back to Marchetti's until 2 am, and that point everyone was pretty much interested in going to sleep...

Noting that the toilet had been running for over an hour, Pete: "That's it.. I'm fixing that thing.."
(a few minutes pass)
Me: Oooh.. It changed pitch.. He must be making progress...
daylami: Yeah, maybe soon it will start singing Doctor Worm, then we'll know it's fixed.

So yeah, it was good time.

Current Mood: happy happy

So is working for hours on the New York State Thruway. At least you had a Cinnabon.

Then NiMo had to come ruin it. Oh wait, you wouldn't know that because you refuse to accept the juggernaut that is NiMo.

1. It wasn't in Troy. Where were you when I outlined all the Denny locations? Wolf Road and Central Ave in Colonie; Western Ave in Guilderland; the one in Clifton Park and the one in East Greenbush! Sheesh!

2. There were no motorists around us. Nobody was as brave as we were.

Oh yeah, and remember this for next time...

...If you can manage to get a bodily fluid on a Thruway ticket, it's on the house.
