Anyone want an IBM 75GXP?
I just ordered a 120GB Western Dig. 7200 RPM disk w/ 8MB cache for my PC at home. Anyone want my IBM Death...er.. I mean DeskStar?

Current Mood: geeky geeky

I'll take it. I'll even trade you a full height SCSI 10GB drive. If you don't have a data use for it, it can heat your house instead. :)

I'll give you Herbert Schitte-Bacques. We cracked him open and couldn't get him back together, but he sort of works for little things as long as you don't really have to use the keyboard or the mouse or the hard drive. I think the word for him now is "art."

You sure?

You folks do realize that this is an IBM DeskStar 75GXP drive, right? One that has already started to fail, in fact. (Four bad blocks.)

This disk was, BTW, the media disk in larspc for nearly a year, before I replaced it with a 120GB western dig drive, so this disk has seen some substantial abuse.

I guess if people really want it for whatever reason...

Re: You sure?

Worse comes to worse, I disassemble it and mount the platter assembly on my wall as modern art.
