Omar was over on Tuesday night. We discovered that it isn't possible to watch movies very well in my apartment with my downstairs neighbors complaining. We attempted to watch Training Day that night, with Omar constantly adjusting the volume level so that the dialog was audible and the gunshots were not (to my neighbors). I think me taking the sub off the floor and placing atop a crate will help. I also played with the settings on the receiver and was able to boost the volume of the center channel separately, so that should mean I can watch movies at a lesser volume while still being able to hear the dialog. We'll see...
I've been made responsible for some aspects of the freshman computer config, namely setting up the install point and transforms for Office XP, and writing a script thingy to set people's email settings. Dam. I thought that with my new job, I would avoid that this year. Guess some things will never change.....
I finally saw Minority Report last night. One of the best films I've seen in a while, if you can excuse the overly happy ending.
The dishwasher saga continues. I received a voicemail yesterday from the place telling me that the installer had taken ill and they would have to reschedule. Once again, they wanted to try to schedule it during a weekday while I'm working, and I have to call them on Monday to reschedule, but I cannot be given an exact time. We'll see about that. I'm going to ask to speak to someone's supervisor on Monday. Not that I'm blaming anyone for getting ill, but that wouldn't have been an issue if they had actually shown up for the first install appointment.
