Google Talk
Does anyone here use Google Talk and find it useful/better than AIM, Yahoo! Messenger, MSN Messenger, etc.?

I just added the balance of my GMail contacts to it now, although I've had it for a while.. It's very minimalist.. very Google...

i use it

i have trillian for my msn/yahoo/aim account, and i leave google talk open, because i use it with a few co-workers. the only particularly useful thing for me is the way google talk will pop up each message you receive from someone when it's minimized. so i can have a conversation with someone where i'm reading and working at the same time. trillian/aim don't have that. i can't speak for yahoo or msn, since i've never used them.

I tried it when it first came out (we may have even text chatted together on the first day :) ) but then I realized I don't really IM with any program much anymore, so I uninstalled it.

Gtalk is very very early beta. I believe they plan to impliement some of the common features found in the other messengers (ex. text formating).

Things should start to get REALLY interesting once google opens up their jabber network, then anyone who has a jabber account on any server will be able to talk to people on gtalk, and vice versa. Think email, where even if you have a account at hotmail you can still email people who have yahoo.

I dont currently use gtalk. But once it opens up I will.

I use GTalk, as I log into it when Gaim opens with all my other IM accounts. To be honest, I get the occasional ping on it from someone. Most of my associates use some other IM service, though.

As for using the client, I eschew all native clients (Skype being the exception).
